Full Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant

TCDN, Trinity Cooperative Day Nursery is a leading non-profit Childcare organization located in the Wallingford Swarthmore area. TCDN is hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant.

As a Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will handle all the accounting needs of the non-profit organization including preparation of financial statements and quarterly and annual statements. The candidate will use accounting and bookkeeping software to stay organized. The candidate will report directly to the Executive Director and will engage outside CPA firm to prepare financial statements and tax returns as needed.

The ideal candidate will have have a Certified Bookkeeper designation (required) along with an Associated Degree in Accounting or related field (preferred). In this full-time position, the ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a bookkeeping role and advanced accounting and bookkeeping software experience. You will have an aptitude for business and be detail oriented and have experience with financial statements and tax returns.

Responsibilities for Full Charge Bookkeeper

  • Responsible for full cycle accounting duties.
  • Code and enter vendor expense invoices.
  • Accounts payable.
  • ·Process accounts receivable and invoice clients and customers.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Ensure accuracy in general ledger.
  • Process employee time sheets and payroll.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly tax returns.
  • Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules.
  • Preparing required reports.
  • Qualifications for Full Charge Bookkeeper
  • Associate Degree in accounting or related field, preferred.
  • Certified Bookkeeper designation, required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a bookkeeping role.
  • Non-profit bookkeeping experience is a plus.
  • Advanced accounting and bookkeeping software experience.
  • Aptitude for business.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Must be comfortable meeting tight deadlines.
  • Experience with financial statements and tax returns.

Full-Time Program Director for Before and After School Programs

Our Kindergarten Complement, Before & After Care programs are looking for a dynamic and energetic program Director. The Out of School Time Director would oversee 5 programs located within the Wallingford-Swarthmore school district area.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall on-site management and implementation of a multi-site school-aged program and summer camp program, direct the daily operations of the program in support of policies and procedures
  • Organize, evaluate, and oversee the sites to create a fun and engaging learning environment
  • With a hands-on approach, ensure your sites are operating effectively; maintain licensing, safety, and educational standards
  • Provide a caring family-oriented environment where positive child/adult relationships are developed
  • Motivate, train, develop and oversee a team of teachers to create unique and engaging classroom experiences, leverage and develop educators to be passionate and committed professionals
  • Provide guidance and feedback to help staff strengthen knowledge and skills to accomplish individual and team goals
  • Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children
  • Create positive relationships with families, teachers, school district administration, state licensing authorities, and community contacts
  • Provide site coverage during high need days

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience with the ability to develop, engage and inspire a team
  • Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or Elementary Education is required
  • PA Director’s Credential or the willingness to obtain the credential
  • Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively
  • Must meet state-specific guidelines for the role.
  • Ability to use computer programs with intermediate proficiency
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and work indoors or outdoors.
  • Ability to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
  • A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
  • Ability to build relationships with families and staff and create a dynamic environment

Substitutes Needed for All TCDN Programs

TCDN is seeking substitutes for the preschool and out-of-school time programs we operate. Hours can be full day or part day, based upon need. Our programs provide an opportunity to work with children to help them develop a love for learning in a warm, nurturing environment. Substitutes play a vital role in supporting our staff and develop rewarding relationships with children and their families.
